Artist's Description
This painting is an homage to the powerful healing that occurs when participating in the process of creation. As I painted this, I was going through a grandios energetic shift. I committed to releasing some toxic relationship patterns I witnessed myself repeating. While my heart was tender and my mind worked hard to make sense of it all, I came to this canvas not out of inspiration, but out of commitment to upgrading my mindset, my heart space and my overall vibration. Whatever I go through in life, I know I can come back to the easel to work it out. This painting started out timid, serene, safe (the way I’d been living without admitting it). I had a tranquil idea in my mind of what it would look like, but as I was putting paint to canvas, it just didn’t feel authentic. I have never seen artmaking as a choice, but rather as a necessary and obvious part of living. What I am creating is always changing, but my commitment to creativity is an inevitable constant. The way I see it, the process of artmaking helps to integrate the endless information coming into the brain with the already present and always working imagination. It helps to process past experiences and vision future ones, all the while giving my mind, body and spirit a pathway to actually BE in the present moment of creation.
